The Foyer
Welcome
Welcome to Jangled Jester's Halloween digital renaissance faire, The Mechanical Haunted House for Ordinary Spooks!
This is a 31-day online festival of non-mystic Halloween: the mechanisms, places, and tales that make fall feel charged without asking you to believe in a veil.
Here you will find the event map and the October itinerary: a sequence of rooms built to study fear, death, season, and enchantment as physical processes.
Scroll down to learn how to participate. There is no cost to join. A new door opens every day through Halloween.

The Mission
Jangled Jester’s mission is to spark a renaissance of rational self-enchantment.
The same physics that shortens October's light, rusts a gate, and keeps a candle burning is the same physics that shapes a chill on the stairs, a startle in the dark, and every magickal outcome in your life.
The Mechanical Haunted House is where we analyze ordinary spooks critically.
Participate
How to Participate: come back every day of October to the faire to see what's new.
Map
Each room has new content published every week of October.
The Foyer
★ You are here.
The door, the map, the month.
The Garage
Engineering and mechanics of fall festivities. Haunted automata and more. If October startles you, this room shows the crank.
The Anatomy Wing
The body without omen. Skeletons as architectures, decay as labor, and biolife taxidermy as an object you can study.
The Cemetery
A room for studying death as a process, not a haunting. How dying works, how to cope with it, how to respect the dead, and how to prepare without a promised hereafter. Graves and names are part of that work. Ghosts maybe not.
The Fear Lab
Facing our greatest fears. How to keep paranormal interest without handing it over to mysticism.
The Harvest Hall
Where we get crafty and go outside. Seasonal recipes, tutorials, and field work for shorter days.
The Story Parlor
Storytelling and fall folklore. Appalachian lore as landscape, tarot as a hero's journey, hell as literature, and the Fool all dwell here.
The Attic
Fall fashion and decor. Costume, cloth, color, lanterns, and how to dress the house for October.
